On October 24, 2024, the Vasile Ploae chess competition – the first edition was held at Spiru Haret National College, within the Erasmus+ project Qualified education with innovative teaching methods in school (2023-2-BG01-KA210-SCH-000184736).
32 competitors from 3 schools from Tecuci and Barcea participated. The contest, moderated by Professor Mihalcea Costel, coach accredited by the Romanian Chess Federation, was quite animated and interesting.
In the end, Simulescu Andrei (winner of the trophy) and Damaschin Iustin (2nd place) stood out.
